6Pac Youth Thingy

Cy

Hi my name is Cy and I head up the team that runs 6pac.I have a real passion and desire to help young people mature in their daily lives. I’m a fairly easy going person who loves music, mainly classic rock and some of the more modern stuff. I try to be an authentic person, so what you see is who I am. When I’m not involved in 6pac I play in the worship band at The Oak, I play drums and have only been doing this for the last year or so not quite a John Bonham clone yet .So beware that I may bore you with drum stuff. Besides 6pac I also have my family life to deal with .Me and my wife Sam have two very energetic boys to deal with and also my baby, which is my dog called Tasha... This is pretty much who and what I am .Look forward to chatting with all at some point.

I   am one of the team who works with 6Pac every now and again.  My son Nic is part of the group.  So he usually tells me what the group enjoys and what they don’t.  I am really passionate about knowing Jesus and letting our faith live out in a real way in everyday life.  Oh, and how to do that without appearing a total freak!  When I’m not helping 6pac I lead the band at the church.  I play Electric Guitar and enjoy the music loud and with a rocky edge.  I’ve been at the church since it began and help in the leadership team of the church.  They’re the guys who work with the Pastor in running the church.  I sometimes preach and have caught one of 6pac falling asleep during my sermon once.  But he had been up all night during a 6pac sleepover at the church.  I’m sure it wasn’t the message.  Was it?

Dave

I was asked to write a bio, and thought of Yakult and that probably describes me quite well - odd looking, not to everyone's taste, but it can do you a lot of good!

I work in a secondary school and have been involved in some sort of youth work for 22 years - which makes me feel very old!

I like looking at things from a slightly different point of view and making people think. I have a beard that makes me look like a goat, and sideburns that make me look like a monkey...

I just think I'm me and like helping other people discover who their real 'me' is and how me and God fit into my world.

Harvey

The name 'Harvey' means "battle-worthy" or "warrior", and when you consider that in the Old Testament the worship band was sent to the front line of the battle - that name fits quite well with me! My favourite place is anywhere where I'm encouraging others, especially our next generation, to praise and worship our creator and friend Lord God Almighty!

I'm happy to lead the worship team, play the drums or guitar, play the triangle, or even stand on my head covered in baked beans if I genuinely believed that would help someone go deeper into a relationship with God. I'm constantly looking for a new way to 'do worship' - to keep it fresh and alive. I will dance, I will sing, to be a complete nuttier for our King; and in case you haven't yet fully understood what I'm saying yet... yes - I WILL become even more undignified than this!

Worship is a lifestyle - not just a song and a dance.
